Hi,

I am feeling a little low at the moment, I understand the subjective world of writing books, however it hurts to see it in the raw, especially the first rejection notice.
Just thought I might see if there are any out there who would like to share there experiences,
I wont give up, I am going to send it off to the next one :)
Thanks heaps guys for your support, apart from one! I will frame it LOL!! That made me laugh so much!!

You know what? I've read books that, in my opinion, don't deserve to have been published. They were hard to understand and had a not-so interesting plotline. I'm sure even the author got bored.

So if those crappy books made it onto the market, i'm betting yours can make it too, and beat them all!!

Treasure every rejection - it'll be nice to have a big number of people to point and laugh at when you do get published. In the nicest and most humble way possible, of course.

JK Rowling was rejected 12 times before she got a nibble - LOOK AT HER NOW!

Just keep going but what ever you do DONT STOP!

Yes, keep at it, don't give up. As the first guy said, Rowling got many rejections before Potter was given a chance. However, it does worry me how many people on here seem to be intent on becoming published authors; I write purely because I enjoy writing, and I think it's dangerous to write for any other reason, especially if that reason is money. Yes the dream is there, but I'm realistic about it - if it does happen it likely won't be for another 10-20 years at best. Keep sending out those letters, but even if every single one comes back a "thanks but no thanks" you still have the right to sit back and say with pride "I wrote a book". And there's nothing stopping you writing another is there?
