I'm so tired of answering this question but I think I'm even more tired of telling people to use the search bar. Like, it's really not that hard.
Anyways, if they are calling it a karate CENTRE I'm going to go ahead and guess that it's a shit place. Yes, there are a lot of fake places out there, in fact there are more bad places than good. Things to avoid are any kind of long term contract saying you'll be at the club for a long time and if not you still have to pay, a guarantee that you'll get your black belt, they advertise being a "black belt school", you see little kids running around with black or other high rank belts, the instructors can't show you any kind of proof of qualifications, people tests for belts monthly or really quickly and most importantly, you don't feel comfortable there. Most places will allow you to watch some classes and even try a few for free, make sure you do this before signing up anywhere.
Most karate places will teach some sort of weapons. I've found the bo's are the most common with nunchukus being second most common. Ask the instructor if they teach them. Some places will have a separate weapons class, if they do, you just start going to the class and they will teach you. Other places will incorporate weapons right into the basic class.
