Kei Nishikori beat Tomas Berdych (ranked #20)! Any predictions for Brisbane?

Kei Nishikori was dubbed "Project 45" by his coaches at the Bollieterri Academy and is now ranked 61. I like his chances in Brisbane, especially since Djokovic is out. Of course he is still an underdog...
 
I agree with you. He is, of course, and underdog, but he is one with much talent. Berdych was a challenge but he beat him with (mostly) ease. 2 sets only is definitely a feat.

He will play Mathieu next, who I believe he can also beat. His only real competition would be Tsonga and Gasquet, in my opinion. I think he could have a chance at least against the other remaining players.
 
the kid (i predict) will start making news again when the spring season hits north america.
