He's has 14 points in his first 16 games and 13 of those came during his past 10 games. He even left an impression on Scotty Bowman who praised him after seeing him play Saturday against the Lightning. He's only 16 game's in and already has surpassed all rookie d-men in points and goals. He also has the highest PPGA of any rookie by far. I haven't heard much about him and that surprises me, so your thoughts on Shattenkirk?

Very good argument. It's hard to argue that Shattenkirk is not the best Offensive rookie D-man this season. But with strong play recently from Cam Fowler 10 pts in last 14 games (also a SO winner last night against EDM) and J Braun, SJ with 5 pts in his first 6 games it is not in the bag yet. Other noteable Rookie D-Man would be STL * Alex Pietrangelo who has 14 pts in 26 games with a plus 3 rating and Subban with 9 pts in 25 games with a plus 5 rating (even though he has been a healthy scratch last 3). Both are getting high game minutes against top lines... You also can't overlook Carlson in WSH who is also putting up over 20 mins a game, but the 13 pts in 29 games is a lil low considering who he skates with.

ONLY TIME WILL TELL!!!! :)
