know of any trucking co.s willing to hire driver with termination for backing

accident? i have six months' experience from apr to oct last year. i was fired for exceeding the company's insurance limit on a backing incident in a parking lot. i am being told that the bigger companies won't touch me until i have at least six more months with a clean record. how can i find the smaller companies that possibly will hire me?
 
The trucking industry is hurting right now because of the fuel ‘crisis.’ However, that doesn’t mean there are not opportunities out there. If you are not willing to relocate, this may make your options limited, but not horrible. The larger companies like FedEx Ground and DHL may help you get set up with an independent contractor model, but like you said, UPS probably wouldn’t consider you as of yet. The smaller to medium sized companies are going to be the best places to start. I woould re-post with what areas (location, city, state) you are looking to get hired.

try to find a company that moves farm equipment. or supplies. they usually don't do a check and pay a little better also.
