We all know that Kobe Bryant has a killer instinct. That fact was on full display on Saturday against the New Orleans Hornets. Even though Kobe Bryant missed his first 15 shots, he came up big at the end to give the Los Angeles Lakers a 88-85 victory.
Even though Kobe Bryant was only 2-for-20 from the field, he had the confidence to take a three-pointer with the Lakers down by two points with less than 24 seconds remaining. The result? A swish, of course.
Said Kobe Bryant: “I’m stubborn. You have to have that kind of attitude, that kind of determination or stubbornness. That’s what gets teams over the hump to win multiple championships.”
Seeing as the Lakers superstar has five NBA championships, he definitely knows what he’s talking about.
Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum led the way for the Lakers, combining for 40 points, 21 rebounds, five assists and four blocks. The Hornets got 18 points and 10 assists from Jarrett Jack and 17 points and 10 assists from Jason Smith.
With the win, the Lakers improved to 32-20 on the season, while the Hornets dropped to 13-39.
