Mario Chalmers vs. Derek Fisher
- The matchup, consisting of one man who hasnt panned out just yet (Chalmers), versus another man who is clutch, but due to age, can be a defensive liability (Fisher). Now if Mike Bibby was starting, then I would give the nod to the Heat here. I can see throughout the game, Fisher using his vetran instincts by flopping, & making Chalmers pay with wide open 3's.
* Advantage: Fisher (Lakers)
Dwyane Wade vs. Kobe Bryant
- I really want to give the advantage to Wade here, I really do. But I just cant see that happening. Especialy with Kobe wanting revenge from looking bad on x-mas day. It will be a great one on one battle, hell all-the way down to the end, but Kobe will manage to stay all over Wade, therefore preventing him from getting the ball. Look for Kobe to hit all sorts of difficult shots, ala Jordan v2.0!
* Advantage (small): Kobe (Lakers)
LeBron James vs. Ron Artest
- The only question that canbe raised here with this matchup is only two things. 1.) Which Ron Artest will show up?! 2.) If the game is on the line, do you put it back into LeBron's hands with a lockdown defender on him?! With the recent trend thats been going on. I can say that somehow Lakers players & staff will do thier best to keep Ron in-line & force LeBron to beat them! Otherwise if a going-through-the-motions Ron shows up, then it will be a long, long night!
* Advantage (small): LeBron (Heat)
Chris Bosh vs. Pau Gasol
- Bosh really though he was the 'ish when he was actin all tough on x-mas. But Thunder's Kevin Durant & even Celtics' Kevin Garnett have turned him back into what he was, the fakest tough guy in the league. Kobe will be all in Gasol's ear with pregame talk of him being really aggressive! So expect that to happen, because if he doesnt, Gasol will not only look bad by Bosh, but will have to hear it from Kobe in the back post-game!
* Advantage: Gasol (Lakers)
Erik Dampier vs. Andrew Bynum
- The matchup of 2 over-rated bigs that will meet once again. One, who had 1 good yr. (Dampier in contract yr. a lifetime ago) vs. another big who hasnt played more than 75 games since rookie yr. (Bynum in 04-05). The only thing Dampier could probably do is try to flagrant foul even this version of Bynum, from wreaking havoc in the paint. Even LeBron has a better chance of defending Bynum.
Advantage (big): Bynum (Lakers)
Heat Bench vs. Lakers Bench
- The Heat bench has guys that are hardly in rotation, & guys that are shooters & defensive liabilities: (House, Jones, Miller, Bibby, Big Z, & Howard). So they will notbe a factor, look for the Heat bench to supply 12-16 pts at best. Lakers on the other hand, have: (Odom, Brown, Blake, to a very lesser extent Walton). But all they need is a great effort by Odom & a decent effort from the rest.
* Advantage (Huge): Lakers Bench
Erik Spoelstra vs. Phil Jackson
- Spoelstra looks like he is cracking under the pressure, & I really believe it's not his fault, but he will be deemed by mass media & the league (ESPN, & LeBron James & others) as the scapegoat! Phil is the mastermind who is pulling all the strings on his team, & he likes to kick a man when their down. Becuase thats how he rolls!
* Advantage (Leaps & Bounds): Jackson (Lakers)
Final Socre:
Heat 88
Lakers 94
P.S.
For your daily laughter, enjoy!
LeBron James does it again!
