Laptop shutting off intermittently during downloading from internet. OS is XP home

and we have Norton 360 on.? It completely turns off all the way. It usually happens when downloading from the internet but not all the time. Norton 360 is running. The laptop is a HP pavilion ZV 5000. Thanks for your help.
