Last night I had an extremely awful dream... one of the worst I have ever had. It was brief, but the feeling of dread was so great that I couldn't get back to sleep. It was worse than any scary dream I ever had before, even though it didn't really scare me, it made me feel like I was in hell because it disgusted me so much.
Basically, I was in a hospital, but blood was covering the floors everywhere. Everywhere I turned there was someone suffering in horrible agony. One person was holding a chainsaw, with it on and severing their own chest while blood was spilling on to the floor. I ran to try and escape whatever I was trapped in, just getting more and more horrified and disgusted as the dream went on. People were screaming, and the noise of the chainsaw just kept getting louder. Some people were facedown, while crawling around on the bloody floor and I had to step over their bodies. It literally felt like what hell would truly be like, a sense of utter despair and suffering. Not an impending fear really but the feeling that nothing can ever get better, and you will be stuck in an eternal torment for the rest of existence. This dream might have made me believe in hell, and I am not even religious. I hate hospitals too btw, so that may have had something to do with it. Its also weird, because I have not had a bad dream in a long time. I have had some weird ones, but none that were terrible like this one.
It was actually kind of like the hospital scene from "Jacob's Ladder" if anyone has seen that movie.
