Yesterday, we mentioned that The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass phonetic furigana characters were put above the kanji so younger players (and students of Japanese) would know how to read the dialogue. Shigeru Miyamoto said he was hoping to make the game more interactive for children and so that anyone could easily play. The above clip of the function in action was taken from an Nintendo conducted interview with Miyamoto. Such a simple, yet clean and clever function.
