I have a 1998 lexus es300 I bought it from what looks to be a nice buy here pay here seriously its my second car from there. the 1st experience not really smooth but it was a great car no big problems. This time I bought a 1998 lexus es300 it seems to have a transmission problem the guy did give us a written contract that he will fix the car or exchange it if any problems were to arise from the vehicle he said he is a man of his word and plus he gave us a free 3 month or 3000 mile warranty from this company witch cost him about 205 dollars he added another 500 to the limit for 25 extra bucks without telling us and I took it to my mechanic because of some whining sound he said it was the transmission after giving it a run. He said it can be up to 1900 dollars to get it repaired or something and when I took the car back he said no for 1500 he can take it to lexus and drop a brand new transmission from lexus themselves we left the car with him and he called me today saying they have an appointment setup with lexus tomorrow at 10 am to get it checked and to let me know what I can do he said he will use the warranty and pay any difference of what needs to be payed. Does anyone know if its true that you can get a brand new 1998 lexus es300 transmission for less then my mechanic said? I hope its true because I dont want the transmission to go on me plus have this guy playing me like this..
Also I did contact Lexus to verify if there is an appointment. they told me that couldn't find it in the system but that he probably spoke directly to the service adviser and it wouldn't be in the system. but I should call tomorrow and check after 10 if there was any check up or service done to the car it will appear in the system and they did say that they did bring cars to Lexus before for repairs and such I guess
