LG lotus ringtones?????????

I have an LG Lotus 1. I can't put new ringtones on the phone. I tried putting songs on my phone using the microSD card, but after that I can't move the file to ringtones. I tried downloading/sending ringtones to my phone, but it won't work. Anyone with an LG lotus know what the problem is?
