LG Shine (8700) wallpaper problem

ok, ive gotten an lg shine about 3 months ago and i have a small problem. What dementions do my images (that i transfer onto my micro sd card,) have to be in order to fill the entire background when i set an image to my main wallpaper. i have tried many dementions, but i continue to get white borders around my image.
 
Well the LG Shine is not "8700". The LG 8700 is all metal phone from Verizon and that display image should be 240x320 pixles which is also the same as the LG Shine.
