Lick Fingers Before Programming: Doritos XBLA Competition

Besides bulimia (you can't eat just one), Doritos is hoping to inspire young minds to come up with a video game based on their tortilla chip for the Xbox 360. The "Unlock Xbox" promotion lets you register and then submit a game concept for reviewing on their site.

Tell us your idea for a DORITOS® brand-inspired video game. Use our iconic shape, bold flavors or simply our intense experience - whatever comes to mind. How you use that inspiration is entirely up to you...After the five finalists are chosen and playable beta samples produced, we're leaving everything up to you. Here's where you'll be able to play the games, consider the concepts and decide for yourself whose idea is going on to become the world's first user-generated video game.

On top of $6,000 in prizes, five finalists will get to work with Xbox Live Arcade interns development teams to build playable versions of their game that will eventually be available for download on XBLA. Off the top of my head I'm thinking triangular Pac-Man. But technically he would want to eat himself (because he's so delicious), so I'm not really sure how you would play. Kim Phu
