i just got a ticket for possesion of pot (less than 1 oz is what the ticket says but i only had 2 grams if even that) plus paraphenielia possesion. i turned 18 on nov 9th, does anybody know if ill get anything from the courthouse or anything in the mail? im going to try and hide it from my parents. i dont need a bunch of dumb peoples opinions of if im a bad kid or not so dont even bother answering if youre gonna reprimand me.. just wanna know whats gonna happen

Well. In Illinois If you were caught with possession you'd be handcuffed put the in the police car. Then have to wait in the holding cell to be questioned or to be I-bonded or bail bonded by the rents'. If you got a ticket though its probably like any ticket you have to go wait at court. Plead and they give a fine to pay. If you are unsure of your cannabis laws there are websites which let you know your cannabis state laws because all states are different.Just an opinion bring your parents with to court its always good to have support. Also one lie might lead to others because when your future career does a background check and finds your indescretion and you try and how would you explain it. Also if this doesn't help, call the courthouse or non emergency 911 or go to the actual police department . If you want to be independent.

Read the ticket (probably the back). What does it say that you need to do? Does it give you a date that you need to appear in court? If you're still unsure of what you need to do, then try calling the county prosecutor's office, or you could go down to the police station and ask them. As to whether you'll receive something in the mail, I have no idea....The ticket might say that you'll receive no further notice of your court date, and if so, I think it's unlikely that you'll receive anything further. Otherwise, I'll bet that they will send you a letter advising of your court date. You might want to call the county prosecutor's office and ask them about that also.

EDIT: I also happen to know that in Lincoln, Nebraska there is a program called "Diversion Services" that will allow you to complete a program like probation and have certain **eligible** charges dismissed. You might want to look into that. I think there are deadlines for participating, so call them asap. The number is (402) 483-4444.

Too bad. I'm gonna say it anyway.

You shouldn't be messin' with that stuff. Wise up! Pot is trouble. You deserve to be in trouble. You attitude is rebellious and immature and I hope the judge slams you in jail

You're lucky. In Texas they took me to jail on a very similar charge.
