LOL; why is MARKY MARK trying to be in movies now?

I laughed out loud recently when I was watching TV, and saw a movie trailer with Marky Mark in it. Yes - the same Marky Mark from the crappy early 90's pop group "Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch." I'm not kidding; it was Marky Mark.

Why is Marky Mark trying to be an actor now? What's next, a Funk Bunch reunion and concert tour?
