Hey :) I'm 15 n I've been longboarding since I was 5 and racing for 3 years :) Personaly my 3 favorite brands are 'sector 9' 'loaded' and 'fibretek' I have one of eachand they are all great boards :) It depends what you are going to be using it for (racing and speed, carving, tricks, just riding around town) also on height n weight... Sector 9 is good for the money and is well-made, they are good cruiser boards n handle nicely. Loaded is also good, however a bit more expensive. I have a loaded 'dervish' which is my favorite of all my boards, it holds speed nicely but still turns smoothly. Fibretek mainly focus on race boards and are more expensive again. For a beginner I'd recommend a sector 9, more of a all purpose board would b ideal so u can do a bit of everything and decide what area you want to focus on, then u can always change it. Hope this helps a bit... Have fun with ur new board :)
