I am presently rebuilding a SBC 350. I have already installed the heads with a finish torque of 70lbs. From a cheat sheet someone gave me with torque specs it said to torque first at 25lbs and then 45lbs and final at 70lbs. Is this correct or do I need to take it apart and start over with what I'm being told is 40, 55, 70. If I have to redo will the head gaskets be any good and do I need to reseal the bolts that enter the water jacket? I'm hoping it's okay as is. Also I'm wondering if the new oil pump has to be opened and prelube or do I just run it with a drill to prime and pressurize the system.
