Mac and Vista PC to PC Network?

My friends use a Vista Only Chat App to talk on a Computer-to-Computer network, created by Vista. How do I a) Chat with them, b)Share/access their files?I am Using a MacBook with Leopard.Phil
 
Enable SMB sharing in OS XSystem Preferences-->SharingCheck Window Files Sharing and give it a username and password.determine the IP address of the MacSystem Preferences-->NetworkClick Ethernet and click configureWrite down the IP address.Now in XPOpen WIndows Explorer (Not Internet Explorer) and in the address type\\{IP Address of Mac}ie\\192.168.0.100It will prompt for the SMB share username and password. Type them in. Copy the files.To mount the network drive as a Drive letter in XPIn Windows Explorer.Tools-->Map Network Drive\\{IPAddress of OS X}give it a drive letter and click reconnect at logon.For Windows SMB in OSXOn Windows, Enable File and Printer sharing - eihter run the Network setup Wizard orStart-->Settings-->Network ConnectionsRight Click Local Area Connection and click propertiesMake sure "File and Printer Sharing" service is installed and checked, if not install it by clicking "add" or "install" on the same window and install it. It may ask you to reboot.Now create and share a folder in XP. Right click the folder you want to share and click "Sharing And Security". Check share this folder and give it a name and enable write permissions (ckeck "allow other users to modify files"...).
