I brought my friends Verizon iPhone 4 off him to use as a iPod a while ago. The phone is fully functional, but I only used on wi-fi. Now, I am looking to switch from my current T-mobile service to just using the Verizon iPhone.

Will I need to sign up as a new 2yr. contract even though I'm not buying Verizon's phone and I'm bring my own? I would call them or visit a store, but I can't intill tomorrow morning, and I just can't wait...

if your friend never reported that iphone as stolen you would be okay and you should not have to sign a 2yr. contract. if your friend did report that phone as stolen then you cannot activate that phone. you should call the 800 verizon wireless number and give the person your esn number that is located on the phone to make sure you can activate the phone.
