Okay so I am buying an infiniti g37 and I was wondering, for racing would I want a manual or an auto with the option for manual shifting. My friend's 350z is manual and his friend has a 350z that is auto with the manual shift option and when they race the 1/4 they are neck and neck(both stock except for cold air intake they both bought). Now I figure everyone is going to say manual and call me an idiot, but I don't constantly race, I will be driving this car to work/college and around town. I live in a metroplex and I hear manual totally blows when you've got a light every few blocks and heavy traffic. I also have been told that racing with an auto tears up the tranny faster? Dunno if this is true but i'd like some help before making the purchase. I'd have to learn stick before buying a manual though, only reason I am debating.
