Last night's Vice Presidential debate is already being hailed as historic–or at least, historically entertaining. But as I tweeted along with the rest of the armchair politicos and actual media outlets, I noticed something irksome. Whereas the previous week, (male)*moderator*Jim Lehrer was almost always referred to by his last name, this week's (female) moderator Martha Raddatz, also a respected journalist, was not. Almost everyone called her "Martha." Which, I would like to remind everyone, is a sign of serious disrespect.
