Mazda cx7 and off roading???

i have a 2010 mazda cx7..only 2 wheel drive. Im going down to north carolina in a couple weeks and i was wondering if any of you off roading or car experts could give me some advice. I dont wanna do extreme off roading just drive on the beach. What do you think?
