mazda mx5 1.6 or 1.8?

I want to buy a mazda mx5 for the summer. I yhave 2500 quid and want to buy one which the lights pop up. Can anybody tell me weather its best to get a 1.6 or a 1.8? I am trying to do a little reserch into common faults with these cars but just cant find any!! Is there anything i should look out for when buying one? I am going to stay clear of the japanesse model as i have been told they have parts which aint listed in the uk! thank you

Either car is good, what one you get just depends on how different the insurance is, as for faults like most Japanese cars very little seems to go wrong with them.

But if i was to buy a Mazda it go for the RX8
