Message tone keeps resetting on Nokia 6500 Slide.?

My message tone keeps resetting itself to the default tone some times on my Nokia 6500 slide. I set the message tone to a song i have put on the phone, then the standard nokia beep takes over without changing any settings.
Why does it do this? Getting wound up about this phone.
