I recently switched from a Verizon LG Dare to a T-Mobile Samsung Katalyst.

All of the photos and video I took on the LG Dare were saved to the microSD card, however when I put that same microSD card into the Samsung Katalyst the phone shows the microSD card as being empty.

How can I my Samsung Katalyst to read the photos and videos on the microSD card?
Thanks, I didn't even think about checking where the files were stored.

Interesting question...

It's possible that the Samsung Katalyst reads and writes files to its own set of special directories on the microSD card.

What I would try, is save a piece of media from the Samsung Katalyst on the microSD card, and see where it puts it. Maybe it can only see that directory/folder on the card...

After you save something from the Katalyst onto the same card, check it out either on a computer or the old phone again... if you see a new directory, like "Media" or something that wasn't there before, try moving all your files into that folder.

Also, it may be possible that each phone uses its own proprietary formats that can't be read across phones for some media.

Hopefully you can get your stuff off of that microSD card onto a computer at least, using a USB SD card reader.

Anyway, good luck.

Not sure if you can get your new phone to read it. I used my regular SD card in my old camera and in my new one and my new one doesnt recognize that theres anything on it. Its jsut in a different format on different electronics.. Weird I know.
