Miguel Cabrera has won the American League Most Valuable Player award. While many in the baseball world thought Mike Trout should have won the award, it turned out that the voters thought different and gave Cabrera the AL MVP by a landslide.
Personally, I agree with the decisions. While Trout had a great season, Cabrera won the triple crown by leading the American League in batting average, home runs and RBIs. That feat alone is reason enough for Cabrera to win the AL MVP.
Trout, who earlier in the week won the American League Rookie of the Year award, won only six of the 28 first place votes. Cabrera got the other 22 votes.
Cabrera was the first player to hit for the triple crown in 45 years.
