Now that Thomas has been ruled out, it only leaves him and Bush who is not a great pure running back. The Saints will probably use him a lot near the goal line, which probably goes the same for Barber, but I see the Saints getting there much more often against the Lions. Some say Barber is also going to split carries 50/50 with Felix Jones...

Your thoughts?

Barber by a land slide. Mike Bell is a nobody, and Barber is a stud running back.

Barber won't be splitting carries 50/50; it'll be like 70/30, and he'll still get the goal line work.

Barber will split carries with Jones for sure but I don't think I would ever start Mike Bell over Barber. Plus the Saints are probably going to be passing so much against the Lions that Brees might even catch a TD

You're over-thinking this. Barber is a first or second round pick, whereas Bell is a backup and a last minute pickup. If you take Bell, there's a 99% chance you'll be kicking yourself. Who cares if Bell looked good in the preseason; that was preseason. And Tampa's D isn't nearly as strong as it used to be, so it's not like Barber's a risky pick or bad match up.

It's only week 1. Just do the right thing for now and see what happens.
