Mini E-cig Cartridge woes?

I had gotten an E-cig to help me quit smoking. The fist day was awsome and I didn't even feel the need to smoke a normal cig. But I have noticed that it sounds like I'm sucking out the last bit of drink through a straw when I take a drag now. Also, every time I pop the end off to add liquid to the cartridge the fiber ball is stuck to the atomizer. Am I doing something wrong or does this happen to everyone.
