Mormon converts: when and how were you introduced to the gospel of Christ?

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have studied everything about it including the history and I know it is the only true church on the earth and I know the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God. I'm proud to say that I was born into the church. That being said, I do not know how it feels for a convert to come unto the gospel of Christ. So to those that are converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: how old were you when you were introduced to the gospel, how did it come about, & what changes have you noticed in your lives?
When I say I studied it I mean I actually studied it. Yes, I know about the Massacre. Yes, I know the commandment given by God that people were to take more than one wife as it was with Abraham, Moses, & the others.

"Do you know the Bible and Book of Mormon don't agree? Study it."
I've heard all of the controversies people try to invent. I've looked into them and can prove the Bible and Book of Mormon agree completely.

"Oh, really? Then why are you a member, when the Book of Abraham is a proven fraud?"
I'm a member because it's Christ's church and in fact, the Book of Abraham has not been proven to be a fraud; instead, the opposite has occurred.

"When DNA and archeology clearly show the book of mormon story is completely made up?"
Other way around, sorry. DNA has proven the Book of Mormon to be true to what it says. People try to misinterpret what the Book of Mormon says and make desperate attempts to talk against the word of God.

"When your church has changed "everlasting doctri
"Ask God to show u the real meaning of Mormonism. The truth about the mormon book. To let u see what he sees. To open your eyes to God's truth."
That's how I know the Book of Mormon is true. "Meaning of Mormonism" huh. Fine by me. Mormonism: consists of 3 sects: LDS, RLDS, FLDS, & Community of Christ, the LDS, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is the one that is true and is Christ's church.

"The mormon book is not from God. Your church will grow to power, will increase exponetially and convert even the strong. For it must come to place that mormons will rise to power and fight the children of God. Your church will be led by the devil himself."
You mean the Book of Mormon which is backed up by the Bible itself. We do not fight the children of God, we try to bring people unto God and His kingdom by teaching them the everlasting gospel. Great, now you're calling Christ the devil.

"The mormon book is true, no question about it. But it is what the devil saw trough his eyes."

U are insane. Ask God to show u the real meaning of Mormonism. The truth about the mormon book. To let u see what he sees. To open your eyes to God's truth.

The mormon book is not from God. Your church will grow to power, will increase exponetially and convert even the strong. For it must come to place that mormons will rise to power and fight the children of God. Your church will be led by the devil himself.

"For to Nephi an angel told him,"It is better that he die than the nation perish."
That angel was the devil and he was telling Annas that same statement when he was referring to Jesus. " It is better that one man should die, then the whole nation perish " So the pharasees decided to kill Jesus.

The mormon book is true, no question about it. But it is what the devil saw trough his eyes.

This is right up my ally because I just started thinking about my conversion. Here's my testimony.

I was raised baptist, all of my immediate family is baptist. Something happened one day that made me see that being baptist wasn't the right way for me (personally) to find Christ. I disagreed with the way the practiced faith, and I was disappointed with the caliber of people who were baptist. So I decided to denounce myself as a baptists and went of a personal search to find my testimony.

During my search I started to pick up Atheist views. I become unhappy and took the people around me for-granted. I let outside influences control my life and hit a low point. At one point I tried out Catholicism but the Catholic church never guided me to Christ. I was still unhappy and somewhat bitter and religion and Christianity.

But, there was a day where I prayed to God to show me a way. I've has heard about LDS before, and like many I let rumors and myths form my opinion. But something made me want to look more into it. So I went to the website and heard others testimonies. When I did my research, I realized that the LDS church wasn't what people said it was (racist and polygamist mostly) and it taught good morals to it's members to live by. I prayed and asked God if this was the right way, and I do believe he answered my prayer. Because days after that prayer, someone contacted me and said that I was his brother, it was hard to believe but he had looked for me for years but he found me.

After this my heart knew that I belonged to the LDS church and I would be proud to cal myself a Mormon. Of course I had to deal with new things such a the Book of Mormon and Pearl of Great Price, but I look at those as guidelines to my new/reborn life. Ever since I found the LDS church, I've been happier...

That is my testimony..Sorry if it's a bit long!

The very first time I remember ever hearing anything about the church was from my non-member dad.

He was raised Catholic, but isn't religious. every time I had a question about God, I would ask him about it, because my dad is great about explaining an idea from a neutral POV. He used to have me get his Bible and help me to look up the answer to my own questions

In this Bible, he had a page from a book that wasn't the Bible. It was in biblical language, and so I asked him about it. He told me that it was given to him by a friend of his years ago, and that it belonged to a group that believed Jesus came to America after he died. I was about 10.

The second time I was introduced to it was a few years later in 8th grade, when I was hanging out in the Library at school with a few friends, my future wife included. We were looking through some books on the shelf and saw the Bible. She wandered off and came back a minute later upset. "I couldn't find a book I wanted you to read." She came back the next day with a book of Mormon and handed it to me.

I didn't understand at the time that it was for me to keep, so I kept it for a few days, read some of 1 Nephi, thought it was VERY strange and gave it back to her as politely as I could.

I remember seeing a commercial on TV for the church, and they were offering free Bibles (not the BofM) if you called the number.

Then, in college, I started dating my wife, and took the missionary discussions, and looked up the church online. I became very anti-mormon. When I moved down to Florida, I was looking for a church that I could feel the spirit of Christ. I always felt very uneasy at the LDS church, but it was strange, because every other church I felt led to go to was very charismatic, but had absolutely no idea what they believed in doctrinally. (aside from "if you don't speak in tongues, you don't have the holy ghost")

I prayed and fasted one night for guidance, and was told quite plainly by the spirit to read the Book of Mormon. It completely threw me. I believed I KNEW the church was false. There were so many 'contradictions' in it, i believed. It wasn't until I relied on God's knowledge over my own that I started to feel the spirit testify of the church.

Many people have noticed my life is completely different. I was talking to my aunt on the phone, and she commented that it sounded like I was a much happier person. She said she never thought I was find it in 'the mormon church', but she was glad I did. The Book of Mormon has tremendous power to change your life. Things I had been trying to improve about myself for years with no effect suddenly came extremely easily.

"I have studied everything about it including the history..."

Oh, really? Then why are you a member, when the Book of Abraham is a proven fraud?
When DNA and archeology clearly show the book of mormon story is completely made up?
When your church has changed "everlasting doctrines" faster than the design of their garments?

Somehow I doubt you've studied "the history," other than what mormon apologists have written. How sad.

Peace.

My Mormon sister prayed to know the truth. God spoke to her and said "study the Bible".
Do you know the Bible and Book of Mormon don't agree? Study it.
