I contacted star choice and they told me that the dish needed alynment . i told them that the previous owner had no problems and had just removed his receiver from the system a few days ago and had not touched the dish.His signal strenght was 45% at the time ,I can only get 18 . I attempted to re-agust the dish but could not get the signal strenght above 19. In an attemp to satisfy myself ,I took the receiver and hooked it up to my friends system a few blocks away(his signal is good ,sitting arond 48% and getting great picture) and again,I could only get 18-19 % signal strenght out of my receiver,that is with using everything of his except the receiver. . In my opinion,This test eliminates pretty much everything but the reciver.I'm now surmising that my receiver could be toast or is there a chance that starchoice set it up incorrectly when I contacted them when I contacted them to do so.Getting a new receiver is not an option at this point. Any suggestions
