Motorola V400 speaker volume key ?

Anyone have a motorola V400 & I'm trying to get the speaker volume on the ear piece to work, not the speaker volume on the outside, but the ear piece. I can't find a speaker volume key anywhere on the settings, but the one on the side of the phone is up 2 7 & I can still barely hear.
