Movies combining the past and present?

Hey all

I was hoping someone could recommend a movie/movies which include stuff like time travel and the mixing of people from the past and modern present. I dont mean trekky si fi stuff or Bill and Ted Stuff, but movies like the "time bandits" and "Les Visiteurs" dealing with how the story teller sees social interaction between people of the past meeting people of the present!
