[IMG]http://idolator.com/assets/resources/2007/07/guvner-thumb.jpg[/IMG]It's been almost a decade since New York City's Guv'ner left us, but Spectral Worship is a fine final release, one which I couldn't stop thinking about when the first Stephen Malkmus solo album, which has a similar lackadaisical vibe, came out. "Time Stands Still" is a great starting place; it has off-kilter guitar lines and cynical, yelpy barbs tossed between Charles Gansa and Pumpkin Wentzel, and it'll leave you wondering why they gave up the ghost so soon:
