I sold my car through auction on e-bay, in the advert I welcomed people to come and view the car and asked they contact me first. The winning bidder did not come and view and went ahead with bids regardless. He was unable to pay the deposit I stated in the advert so agreed that he may pay a small deposit providing the car was collected soon. Upon arrival he and his "friend" test drove the car like maniacs, shoke the car and kicked the tyres then said "we don't like it we will only pay agreed price if you put a brand new MOT on now". I refused and said that the car was sold as described in the advert, they have since left me negative feedback and are demanding thier deposit back. I am stuck as to what to do, e-bay won't assist with the feedback and don't know if I have to refund the deposit? This is all because they changed thier mind upon collection, I advised viewing first!

It is their fault. They had every oppertunity. Provided you described the car honestly then you do not have to refund the deposit. There is nothing can be done about the feedback if they do not agree to retract it.
