My 94 Mazda MX-3 rides very hard, but the "push/bounce" test on the absorbers...

...is ok. What could it be? I bought the car at 190k kms, it now has 198k kms on it. I do not ever remember it having "amazing" suspension by any means, but it seems extremely hard now, as if there is no shock absorption at all -- passengers have commented and a mechanic friend even said it needed new shock absorbers after driving it for a week, although he is not the most thorough mechanic... I preformed the "bounce" or "push" test (ref: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJ7Y84A-1Ec - "Shock Absorber replacement") and the car seemed to respond just fine, as described in the video.

What could be causing such hard/bumpy ride? It's as if I have the suspension tuned for racing, or there is none at all... I can feel almost every bump!
No custom (or "racing") modifications were made to the car. It's all stock. To get the car safetied when I bought it I had to replace the right front strut, although I didn't do it myself I had a shop do it so I'm not sure if it was just the coil spring or the whole strut/absorber.

if your droppped the car with custom after market lowering spring its going to do that so try to replace the struts and the spring all at once then you should have the problem fixed
of just replace the struts .
that fixed my problem.
