my bf stopped drinking and attends AA. but now our relationship seems distant.?

he is physically and emotionally not into it like before. We used to cuddle and have intercourse. or just cuddle to sleep and to watch a movie now he barely wants to be touched or even talked to. He just says i don't understand what he is going through. he won't talk to me about it. Is this normal of him to be going through this after drinking and becoming sober.
