my blackberry pearl got wipeout, how do i reset it?

I forgot my password, and it totally wipeout everything and now it goes all black and had the red light on, and something pops out saying some letters and number and a button Reset i press reset but it goes back to that again. what do i do?
 
That happend to mine also the only way to reset it is to go to your cellphone dealer and they will reset it and download a patch for it to fix it.
