blow? Well I have another open question, asking why my bass just cuts out at higher volumes...and I was told by several people that my system wasn't hooked up correctly. Everything was new, and the bass cut out after just a SECOND of turning it up! The bass always works if I keep it at low volumes...but what's the point of that? I bought it to be LOUD! So, please let me know if this problem could destroy my sub or amp, because I just paid a lot of money for these...and that's the last thing I want. I also paid $100 to have it hooked up by "professionals" and it looks like they may not have known what they were doing?? How could professionals, who hook these things up all the time, NOT know what they are doing? Even my friend who hooked up my last two systems, lasted longer than this! I just had mine hooked up yesterday and it's already got problems. Here are the symptoms- When turned up past MID volume (when the bass starts to hit real hard) The bass will just "turn off completely" but the head unit will keep playing fine (just with no bass) So, at this point what I do is turn the volume back down, and I turn off the head unit and turn it back on, and the bass will be back. Also the amp gets VERY HOT very fast, and you can smell it like burning. I dont think this is a good sign that it's overheating and the bass is cutting out. I am worried they completely wired it wrong or something. I don't think it's the ground, as it seems to be in place fine. They did infact use my old wire kit which they said was 4 guage, but those wires were kinda old sitting in my trunk for the past 5 months and even got wet at one point. The shop said "Oh they're fine" So, could this be the problem? Either way my MAIN concern is, will these symptoms I explained to you, cause the system to blow? (either the amp or sub?)

If your going to spend money on an audio system i recommend you have professionals do the job, you wouldn't want to have all that go down the drain for a simple mistake

Yea if you dont no what your doing let the pros do it
