My Cat cant "meow" anymore. Its a mraaa instead.?

Alrighty, first off my cats name is Momma Kitty. Saddly I dont know what kind of cat she is because we adopted her. We've had her for about a year now and she "meows" all the time. She is a very exciting cat with lots of energy. Lately, her "meow" isnt a "meow" anymore. Its more like a "mraaaaa." Its very short like either she has a sore throat or shes losing her voice. Does anyone hav any idea why she cant "Meow" correctly? Im just afraid its some sickness or disease however I dont want to ring up a vet bill for tests if its nothing at all. Shes been like this for almost 4 days. Any help would be appreciated.
 
Yeah, something is going on, has she been given a new toy or have you brought a new piece of furniture into the house?

If she will let you, look in her mouth, make sure her gums and teeth look healthy, especially near the very back. Gently grasp her tummy and fell for any hard places, knots, etc.

Also, has she been spayed yet? She may be in heat. Their 'meow' changes to attrack males when in heat.

Lastly, Call your Vet and ask them if it's normal. They shouldn't charge for a phone call, if they do, find another Vet, LOL.

its not because she cant, i would check to make sure she has been spayed. she might be in heat.
 
It could be hairballs.
Is she an indoor cat?
Bring in some washed grass, if she is,.. natural way to clean out.
