My cat drags his back legs when walking, what could be the cause of this?

He has a vet appointment tomorrow but I wanted to know what might be the possible causes. He's our foster cat and we only picked him up this weekend, so I don't know his history except that the foster agency suspected but didn't know of this problem.

that's a hard one to answer! Will be curious what the vet says. My guess a previous injury if kitty isn't acting like it hurts now.
 
perhaps he has a disc problem, or a pinched nerve in his spine. I would say he might have had some sort of accident and needs an X ray. I hope you find what's wrong good luck.
