Does this work? My cat is developing a UTI, but it seems like she feels fine. I really don't want to spend the money to take her to the vet if this can be fixed at home. Does anyone know if these products work to help get rid of one? Thanks,
Thanks for all the help. I've read a lot of differnt things online. I scheduled a vet apt for tomorrow morning. Oh, and I do feed her wet foor too. She always had dry Fancy Feast (though this time I got her friskies Seafood Sensations as they were out) and I give her a can of wet Fancy Feast 5 times a week. My cat is 4 y.o. and this is her first UTI.

There is no good dry food for UTI's. Yes they advertize that they are available and say they are good but dry food causes urinary problems. By feeding only wet good high protein cat food you will find your cat will have far less problems if any at all, with crystals, blockages or urinary tract infections. Also he/she will have a better coat of fur and it will not have dandruff and it will be glossy. Your cat will reach a good weight - whether she/he needs to gain or lose weight - and she/he will eat less than a cheap can of food filled with bad protein and carbohydrates. Not saying all cheap cans are no good. There are some very good ones available. The other place to read is what Dr Lisa Pierson DVM she has devoted her life to proper diets for cats and tells how to get a cat to change over from a dry to wet diet etc. I will put the URLs at the end.

Dry food is bad and does nothing to clean a cats teeth. I have seen cats that are a year old with rotten teeth and all they ever ate was dry.
Buying food from the vet is not the best quality food you can find. In most vet schools the nutrition classes are given by a pet food company without charge to the University, they of course promote their products and the cheapest products for them to make and earn the biggest profit is the dry ingredients as it is mostly carbs and cheap protein like from corn or rice not meat.

You cannot diagnose a urinary tract infection without a urinalysis. Cats can have feline urologic syndrome which is NOT an infection, but from crystals in their urine, and to diagnose this the crystals have to be identified by urinalysis and the cat put on a prescription diet to keep them from coming back. If she DOES have a urinary tract infection, there is no over the counter medication that is going to help, she needs antibiotics. Her problems cannot be fixed at home. Please don't give her those products without veterinary advice. She would feel so much better if you would take her in to the vet and get the problem correctly diagnosed and treated. Good luck.

No. You need to take her to the vet to get antibiotics, which are the only thing that will cure a UTI. You could think about switching her to a food specifically formulated for urinary tract health, if she often gets UTIs. Many major brands make a UT formula.
