My cat makes monkey-like noises. Is this OK?

Has anyone ever heard a monkey-like sound coming from a cat, rather than a standard "Meow?"
 
Are you talking about a chirping noise? Cats make all different sounds depending on what's happening at the moment. They tend to "chirp" when they are excited or stalking a small animal.
