Ok, so this has been happening a few times now. It restarted and wouldn't log in without doing it again. Sometimes it shuts down completely. It works after we reinstall Windows and ALL that again, but recently it did it again and we just reinstalled the whole thing a few days ago! Does anyone know the problem? Or how to prevent it? Thanks...

If it restarts randomly after a fresh install it could be that your power supply is not strong enough or that your computer is not being cooled properly and is overheating.

Could be a virus.
Run virus scans, make sure the antivirus is updated and you have a firewall.

Does a little window pop up before it shuts down, with a countown til shutdown time?
If so, Go to Start > Run, then type "shutdown -a" (without quotes) to abort the shutdown.
This won't fix the problem, but at least it will give you enough time to run scans.

If it is a virus though, it should have been wiped out when you reinstalled Windows.
Unless you have a partitioned hard drive, and you kept your personal files and just erased Windows data. Or you backed up the files on to an external storage device and then put them back on the computer. Then the virus may still be around and may have spread to your C drive...

And it could be a power supply issue, get it looked at by a professional.

Good luck,
;)

If a computer is updating it will automatically shut down on its own.
You may have a bad fan and the pc is over heating.
Id get it looked at

My laptop did the exact same thing to me. I had to send it back to the manufacturer and they had to replace the switchboard, whatever that is. Anyways, havent had any problems since then.

As taylor said, if your power supply doesn't provide enough power to your hardware (could be due to a recent hardware upgrade etc) then your computer will randomly shut down when there's a lack of power.

Post up your specs and I'll see if there's a problem with your hardware. Give your registry a good clean stops your processor from working too hard and requiring more power etc.
