...He came to the conclution he? can't afford it now, My step mom is leaving him and now he is afraid he is going to be stuck with it. Is there anything he can do. Would they even take it back sence it has been three weeks now? We didn't know my step mom would be leaving him when he got it or else he would not have got it... any advise???? Please help us?

Some states allow you 3 days to change your mind about a real estate refinancing loan, and some people mistakenly believe that it's a "remorse" law that also applies to cars.

Fact is, none of the 50 states has a law requiring a dealer to take back a car, and there are no dealers anywhere that will do so voluntarily.

Sorry, it's not returnable. If he made a 20% or so down payment, it's possible he can sell it for the loan balance, or at least close to it.

Otherwise his only choices are: keep making the payments; or sell it for what' it's worth, and find other funds to pay off the remaining loan balance.

Sometimes life throws stuff like this at ya...wish I had better news.

They might buy it back at a reduced price but either way your dad is going to lose a lot of money.

Screwed.... three weeks is way too long, you usually have about three days depending on what state you live in.
