My dad thinks Im full of crap cuz I bring up memories he doesn't remember.? In November, I visited my dad who is a retired doctor, out of town. HE BROUGHT UP A SUBJECT & I participated and told him 2 stories about the topic at hand, how I wanted to join a $300 photography class but he told my mom no & how in 8th grade I was the only one on my cheer leading squad to have to wear shorts instead of a squirt cuz my mom (who divorced hmy dad when I was 8) wouldn't even cough up the $ for a skirt. He said I was F.O.S & that he thinks I make up stories sometimes! Now he is visiting me this week. Last night @ the dinner table, the topic was about the strange neighborhood we grew up in, even though it was a nice neighborhood, there was def some strange people in it, such as the postman who showed me his polka dot boxers. After I mentioned that, once again, he said, "I'm F.O.S." Then I mentioned something else & he said I was F.O.S again. Now today, I mentioned how my boyfriend read one of this books that he wrote (yes he is an author too) & told him my bf's opinion on a particular part. My dad then said, I was lying & that part isn't even in the book. Well I got fed up & found the part in the book & showed it to him. He tried to change up the meaning & beat around the bush so of course I would look like the liar. I pride myself on my integrity & honest. When he says, "I am FOS," He might as well just tell me he thinks I am a pathological liar. I know what I remember & just cuz he's an old fart who's burnt a million brain cells doesn't mean I am making **** up. I KNOW MY PAST I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. Why can't this guy just say: "I wasn't there so I wouldn't know." or "I just don't remember that" or "Maybe it did happen but I really don't care" Why is his only option to tell me, "YOU ARE FULL OF SH*T? And how do I deal with his behavior.
