My Dell laptop keeps freezing when I open "My Documents" or "My Computer". Any
solutions? I have had a Dell XPS M1330 for about 1.5 years now. My laptop runs Windows Vista. The laptop keeps freezing when I open a Windows Explorer window such as "My Documents" or "My Computer". For example, after I open "My Computer", the new window becomes unresponsive. The pointer/clicker still works and I am able to minimise the window, but my computer freezes soon after; CTRL-ALT-DELETE is also unresponsive. This has happened 4 or 5 times and the problem only appeared 2 days ago. On one of the occasions, a "blue screen" came up, although I was not fast enough to write down the details and have not been able to replicate it. On other occasions, the laptop works normally with no fault, although eventually it will freeze.
I have already "error-checked" my hard disk and I have done a system restore, but the problem remains. I have also scanned my computer for viruses and spyware. The laptop fan was performing louder than usual today, although this has only happened on one occasion. Any ideas?
