My father died a month ago and I'm still numb?

It's almost like the world is passing me by. It's hard for me to get up in the morning, get dressed and go to work. I feel numb and just like I'm here, but not here. I do have spurts of "life" but not many.

When I'm at work, I try to be "on" like an actor. It gets me through the day, but when no one is around, I feel numb and just kinda "there" again.

Any suggestions or advice?

It has only been a month, you just need more time. In the meantime however, perhaps for the next six months or so, it isn't uncommon for people to take an antidepressant, such as Zoloft, to help with the ongoing pain. Either way, it will get better with time, losing a parent is one of the biggest things to go through in life.
