My Fish Is Sick, Can You Please Tell Me Whats Wrong With Him?

I have a Leporinus Fasciatus it started off as just a whitish swollen eye. So i thought maybe one of my cichlids fish bit its eye. I separated the fish from my community of fish.The day after it got 40 percent bigger and still it has no appetite Then a little red dot began to form in the middle of the eye. A few days later the eye is huge and a white string like looking thing is hanging out of it. I haven't tried any medications because I'm not entirely sure on what it is. I know it sounds like "anchor worm". But then in a way it kinda sounds like a "pop eye". Can you tell me what it is???
