My friend won't listen, and I don't care for arguing so I can't get through to him?

I'm a high school freshman. There's this friend of mine, allways been the short kid. He has a Napolean complex, and takes advantage of his childlike appearance to get away with anything. He's Very bossy, and can easily get what he wants. I recently figured out that he's pretty spoiled rotten at home.
I'm also short as him, and that may have led me into my current social state: very quiet, observant, peaceful yet a bit unsocial. I find it very difficult to come up with things to say on the spot. (I hate small talk: "good morning???") Anyways, in marching band this year I'm the leader of the trumpet section, and his napolean complex obviously comes through and he takes over, always undermining my authority. Whenever I try to put him straight he wants to argue with his little adorable act and I can't break in and get my point across. Eventually I just shut up and move on.
I think I may have too much self-control, and I can't come up with things to tell his rotten self until after. It's starting to become a real problem.

I feel like a bomb, but I can't explode because of the self control thing. It's sickening.

He thinks he can get away with anything with me cuz he's my friend.

Help?
